CenterStage, in collaboration with Sur Sangum Karachi friends, brings you "Melody Night"!! Keeping the tradition of musical night by the "Sur Sangum" team, we have lined up some great talented singers this year. A night of music and food awaits!

Sur Sangum is delighted to bring another musical evening in a pure mehfil style. A signature Sur Sangum private nashist, the evening will feature geets (filmi / non-filmi) and light ghazals. Singers will present soulful and heart-touching songs that we all know, we all love but that aren't sung as much. Get ready to sing along and have a relaxing, fun-filled evening. 

Enjoy an unplugged and intimate evening with Harsharan Deep Singh of Patiala and Shaam Chaurasi gharanas of Indian classical music. Accompanied by Nadeem Shah on tabla, Harsharan will sing kalaams by leading Urdu poets.

Sur Sangum is delighted to present an afternoon of ghazals and thumris featuring musicians with a passion for poetry and music. Singers will present choice kalaam of great Urdu poets set in compositions by classical ustads.

Sur Sangum is delighted to present noted exponent of ghazals, geets and sufi music, Yasmin Rashid. A seasoned artist, poet and singer, US-based Yasmin Rashid is versatile and multi-faceted. Yasmin learnt classical music and being the exceptional vocalist that she is, worked with various music styles such as Ghazals, Semi-classical and Sufi music. She is committed to community service, supports through her music, various fundraisers to promote literacy for the under privileged children in Pakistan. She is presently serving on the board of Trumbull Art Gallery in Ohio. Yasmins’ greatest sources of inspiration are Madam Noor Jahan and Ustad Amanat Ali Khan. Yasmin Rashid is specially coming to perform for Sur Sangum in Toronto.

We all love old film classics and we all love to sing along with the singers. Sur Sangum's upcoming mehfil is a tribute to all the wonderful singers, musicians, composers, lyricists, actors and actresses who gave us these timeless melodies. The evening will feature two ace singers - Saamia Rizwan and Ahsan Shabbir who will take you to a journey of melodies from the past. You will hear and sing along all-time Indian and Pakistani classics. 

Our upcoming musical get-together coincides with completion of three eventful and amazing years of Sur Sangum in Toronto for which I am truly grateful to each and everyone who's been part of this great journey. The mood is definitely celebratory and of gratitude! 

Sur Sangum Foundation launches the ‘Sampurna Concert Series’ with its first event featuring Toronto-based renowned Hindustani classical vocalist Ramneek Singh. Ramneek will sing khayal, tarana, thumri, dadra and Sufiyana. She has a Visharad (degree) from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, & prides herself in being a purist from the Indore Gharana, a distinctively meditative and serene style of Khayal presentation, as instituted by Ustad Amir Khan.

We take immense pride and pleasure in announcing our next event featuring distinguished ghazal and geet singer Shakila Ahmed and dancer-choreographer Tanveer Alam. The upcoming Sur Sangum concert will feature distinguished ghazal and geet singer Shakila Ahmed and dancer-choreographer Tanveer Alam. Shakila trained in Indian classical music from an early age and her repertoire ranges from classical, ghazals to pop/rock, in various languages. She is flying in from US specially to perform for our stage. A special treat this evening will be the presentation of a fusion performance of contemporary and Kathak (Indian classical) dance forms by the talented Tanveer Alam.

It's been long that we had a cosy, intimate Sur Sangum mehfil and many of you requested that we hold one soon. So here we are! We are super excited to welcome singers, new and old to the Sur Sangum family.

Sur Sangam is delighted to present Mehfil e Ghazal and Geet with Rizwan Wali Muhammad who will be performing for the FIRST time in Canada. The evening will be a glowing tribute to the ghazal maestro late Habib Wali Muhammad where Rizwan will be singing some of his father’s most popular and well-known renditions. Introduction to the legendary Habib Wali Muhammad will be presented by Ashfaq Hussain Zaidi (اشفاق حسین زیدی ), a leading modern Urdu poet and author of more than 10 books of poetry and literary criticism. Hussain will also recite prose and poetry for the Sur Sangam audience who are in for a special treat.

Sur Sangum celebrates its 2nd Anniversary by paying a glowing Tribute to Pakistani Music. The evening features melodies from Pakistani film industry, songs from Pakistani pop and band world and an array of uplifting Pakistani national songs. The event will keep you on your feet with your favorite beats and is sure to lift your spirits high.

Sur Sangum Karachi friends invite you for a fun-filled, relaxed evening of music. We will have a line-up of performances after which the floor would open to anyone who'd like to take the mic and sing. Group singing is most encouraged. We'll keep it organic and let the music flow!

Sur Sangum ghazal baithak featuring an array of ghazal singing by group singers as well as guest performances. Names of guest singers will be announced in due course. In the meanwhile, let's get ready for a mini bash!

Welcoming all music buffs to our upcoming musical. The journey we started last year under the umbrella of Sur Sangum GTA completes it's first year in April. To celebrate the occasion, we are having our first anniversary bash on Friday 29 April featuring an exciting lineup of enrgizing performances!

We had been planning to have a musical evening for Sur Sangum members in GTA and finally our dream is coming true!!! We are having our first musical extravaganza. There will be amateur performances with mostly bollywood/lollywood songs, ghazals and light music. Looking forward to seeing all folks. This is going to be a great event!
